Okay, I am almost caught up on blogging. Every year we get to celebrate New Years in Newport. I just love that place, it is my fave. It is so beautiful and warm and it is in its own little world, but right in the middle of everything....and it is only 20 minutes away from Disneyland!!! (My really favorite place) We just had a quick trip (to get back for Mike's school) but it was so relaxing.

I was very excited to take the kids to Disneyland this year. Ava first went when she was 6 months old, but now that she is 2+ and LOVES Mickey we figured she would get a kick out of it. We went New Years day and it was awesome. We walked on to every ride and were able to hit up both parks. The only downer...or odd part was that we were unable to see Mickey until 7:30 at night. As soon as a character comes out for pictures, a super big line forms and then one of the workers blocks off the line(meaning no more people) and we always got there right as that happened.....so frustrating. Finally I let my frustration out on a worker and she gave us the heads up on his next where-abouts and what time to show for...so we ate our dinner in a mad rush and were the first in line to see Mickey. Ava was happy and my goal for the entire trip was completed.

I think this was her favorite ride. I wish we had it on video...she just laughed the whole time and tried to spin that cup as fast as she could.
When it was time to come home, it started snowing over the grapevine....and oh ya we were stuck in it. They decided to close the vine down....without notice to us as we were driving....and it took us 6 hours to go 8 miles, take 4 lanes to 1, and make us get off the freeway and head home. What a waist of a day. Mike spoke with his teacher and was released from school for the next day and that following evening we did it all over again....but this time we made it home...and in like 7 hours. Hummm 6 hours going 8 miles....7 hours going over 300? Something just doesn't add up....
So in a nut shell...Happy New Years

It looks beautiful. I loved taking our kids to Disneyworld and look forward to taking them again. But sitting in a car for 6 hours going no where would drive me insane. i hope that your kids just slept.
