This weekend we took a quick trip to Arizona to celebrate Christy's Grandpa's 80th birthday. His family threw a surprise birthday party for him and we just had to be there. We left thursday night and drove all night, for 12 hours, and got to Mesa early Friday morning. We were all so tired we took some power naps and then were ready to go around 3pm. We surprised him first by showing up at the restaurant his brother was taking him to for his birthday, but this wasnt the surprise party yet. Then we told him that we had to leave the next day. Little did he know there was a bigger surprise party in store for him that next evening. He had a good time and was very surprised to see his 4 kids there and many other relatives and friends there to support him and celebrate his big day.

I also have some relatives that live in Mesa and was so glad we found some time to visit them in our short trip. My aunt Chris and uncle Tim and cousin Andrew and his family live there. Christy and I went to Chris and Tim's beautiful home and visited for a little while then we met up with Andrew and his 2 wonderful kids at an awesome cafe called Crackers. Thank you guys for taking time out of your busy schedules to visit with us.
After the party Saturday evening we packed up and drove all the way back home. We were going to wait and leave Sunday morning but we wanted to have some time to recover before we have to go to work the next day. Also Ava did so good on the way there sleeping in her carseat so we didn't want to risk traveling during the day and have her get cranky. If you have a happy baby, then you have happy travelers.

Wow that is a lot of driving in a short period of time. I don't think I could have done it. Glad you had fun with Christy's family and got to visit some Kelly fam there too.
