Halloween Spookfest

For Halloween this year we went to my friend Derek's house. We got there a little after 11am and started carving our pumpkins. We had gotten some cool patterns from a website called zombiepumpkins.com. This has been something we have gotten into the past few years. They turned out really good, as always :)

This is us preparing and cutting our pumpkins

"The Eye of the Beholder" (Mike's pumpkin)

"Jack" from The Nightmare Before Christmas (Christy's pumpkin)

Derek and I decided to make a haunted house sort of thing in his garage to scare some kids. It turned out pretty good. We got some good scares out of some people, both young and old. The pictures don't give it the full affect, but it gives you an idea of the setup.

There was a spider that someone could lower down onto the candy bowl as kids were grabbing for the candy and also a person could hide down and to the right of where the candy bowl was behind the black drapes and grab people. There weren't as many trick or treaters as we thought but it was still fun.

Derek and I painted our faces black and red and realized afterwards that the red paint doesn't come off very well. It sort of stains the skin and leaves it pink. Luckily this morning after my shower its pretty much gone. Christy dressed up as a witch and Ava was a scarecrow.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!

Wow What fun. That is so cool that you did a little haunted house in the garage. It seems like less and less people do anything fun for trick or treaters. Your red face is scary! Did you make Ava cry? Oh the pumpkins turned out great too.

I love your pumpkins! Great job! I sure hope that you guys didn't scare any little tiny kids (Like Bryson's age) but it is always fun to give someone a good scare.
